Selecting 1095-C Defaults Step 1

After selecting the year and employer for which you want to generate forms, you can use the Forms Wizard to set up the employee offer and coverage codes for the 1095-C forms, or you can import this information.

Using the Forms Wizard for 1095-C defaults

Select to use the Forms Wizard to set the defaults and click Next.

  • In Step 2, you define the rules and dates for new hire, rehire, and variable hour employees for your company.
  • In Step 3, you define the affordability codes and healthcare share defaults for all employees.

Importing employee offer and coverage codes

If you select to import the employee offer and coverage codes, you will skip the steps 2 and 3 of the 1095-C defaults and instead you must define this information in your import file.

Employee offer and coverage codes—whether your employees were offered healthcare and the type of healthcare coverage you offered—are required to complete each employee's 1095-C form.
