Importing your payroll history

Both the ACA forms and the online dashboards and analysis tools (available from the Analysis tab) require your employees' payroll history details. A minimum of 1 full calendar year of information is required for an accurate assessment and to create accurate ACA forms. A partial year of payroll history can be included in addition to the one full calendar year.

Each time you have a new calendar year of data to review, you must import your payroll history. If you have updates to your payroll history, you must import a new file with the appended data in order for the changes to be reflected in your forms and reports.

To import your payroll history into My Workforce Analyzer:

  1. Prepare your payroll history file using the template and follow the data requirements. Save the file in a secure location on your system, but make sure you can access it for the import process.
  2. Open My Workforce Analyzer and select Setup > Import Payroll History.
  3. Click the Select File button to locate your payroll history file, select your file, and click OK.
  4. Click Import to begin the file validation.
  5. When the import is complete, the Import Summary displays. Confirm that the Successfully Imported Records (employees and payroll records) corresponds to the data in your file.
  6. If the import fails, review the Error Report for more information.

Note: Each time you import your payroll history, the previous information is overwritten. This means you can re-import your payroll history multiple times, and each time you have a new payroll you can add it to your payroll history file and import again.
